Ben Torres was a New York City teenager of the 1950's. Born in Puerto Rico, he grew up in Brooklyn. In seeking his identity, he became a street-gang member and drug addict. In and out of jail, Ben vividly remembers standing before a judge and being told he was worthless to society. Though he wanted to kick the drug habit and sought help from various drug programs, he became convinced there was no help and no way he could free himself.

Then in 1966, after 11 years of addiction to heroin, completely devastated and running from parole, Ben entered the Teen Challenge Center in Brooklyn to seek help. There, David Wilkerson, founder of Teen Challenge, prayed for him to be set free. Ben accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and was miraculously delivered from his addiction.

With 43 drug free years behind him, Ben is living proof that there is hope for anyone. His burden is to share the transforming love of Jesus that changed his life, with a lost and dying world. Through his anointed testimony of God's deliverance and his teaching of practical Biblical principles, many have been set free from their bondages and are now living as new creatures in Christ.

Ben and his wife, Lila, are presently living in Waterbury,Ct. and have one married son.

Please come and bring someone who may benefit from hearing this testimony.
