That he had faith to be healed

Acts 14:8-10
King James Version (KJV)
And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother's womb, who never had walked:
The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.

The message shared this evening is: that he had faith to be healed.

The question brought forth this evening is: do you have faith to be healed?

The following testimony is from my friend Brenda.

I would like to tell you about myself and why I am making these hats.

My name is Brenda.  I am in stage 4 leukemia.  I have been fighting this cancer with the help of the Lord for 7 years total.  The first two years of the cancer I was unaware of.

I didn't always look to the Lord for help, as a matter of fact I didn't want anything to do with him for the longest time.  I have had many heartaches and troubles through my life and I got to the point where I just didn't want to go on.  On the day I was ready to give up.. God spoke to me.

I had never felt real love.  I didn't think it existed.  When God found me and I accepted Him and Jesus inti my heart, I experienced a love that was so unconditional, forgiving and comforting that I don't want to to be without Him ever again.  He wasn't judgmental.  He loved me for just the way I was.

God's timing is so perfect.  He saved me from my past and gave me a future.  When he spoke to me the first time. I had no idea that I had cancer.  It was two years of God nurturing me and teaching me how to love myself and then how to love others before I found out about the cancer.

In "2007" I was told that I had 6 months to a year and that I needed chemo right away.  They set up an appointment for me and I went home and cried out to God.  I asked God what I should do.  God told me through His word to change my diet.

I had many storms in my life that I did not handle well on my own.  I canhonestly say that I have such a great peace and joy in my heart and I find my strength and comfort in the Lord.  I am not stressed or anxious through the storm I am going through right now.

The Nurses and Doctors are amazed at how well I look and how long I lasted.  Last November 2011, the Doctor once again told me I had less than a year to live if I didn't do chemo.  It has been a year and two weeks and I am still here.  I am making hats.  I have a Christian Band with several original songs the Lord lets me share.  We play at nursing homes and shelters.

The reason I am writing this is because I don't want you to give up hope.  God is always there.  He never leaves for forsakes us.  I know he has turned my life around and I never want to go back living without Him.

I pray Gods blessings upon you, Love in Christ, Brenda

PS.  Brenda hosted a BBQ last month, yet another testimony of God's provision for healing.

I have met with Brenda on several occasions. What she didn't mention in hertestimony is that when God spoke to her that first time, he spoke to her that she was healed.  She claimed that word for herself.  She clings to that word, she guards and protects that word, she fights for that word, she released her faith in that word.

If you are sick and/or oppressed and have not opened your heart or hardened your heart to God, Please open your heart to Him. Thank Him for his grace and mercy. Ask him for peace, comfort and strength.  Please call out for wisdom.   Please ask Him to help you in your moments of weakness and unbelief.  If this the time to surrender those things which have kept you in bondage (anger, bitterness, fear, unforgivness) please leave them at the cross.  They are not yours to carry or harbor, release these burdens and be free!.  Ask to be refreshed and renewed in the Holy Spirit.  Please have communion with your God, who loves you!

Isaiah 11:2
King James Version (KJV)
And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;

Romans 8:15
King James Version (KJV)
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

The following are God's words concerning healing and faith.

Faith comes from hearing, hearing the word of God.

Matthew 9:35
King James Version (KJV)
35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Matthew 10:1
King James Version (KJV)
10 And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

The provision for healing was foretold by Isaiah

Isaiah 53:5
King James Version (KJV)
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

The provision for healing was manifest at Calvary

1 Peter 2:24
King James Version (KJV)
24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

before going the the cross Jesus and the apostles healed many.
How is this possible?

The following scriptures report that it was the individual's faith that healed them, their faith.

Romans 12:3
King James Version (KJV)
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Matthew 9:22
King James Version (KJV)
22 But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.

Matthew 15:28
King James Version (KJV)
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour

Mark 5:34
King James Version (KJV)
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Mark 10:52
King James Version (KJV)
52 And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

Acts 3:16
King James Version (KJV)
16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

In this scripture, a father asks for help in his unbelief

Mark 9:23-25
King James Version (KJV)
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears,Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

God's mercy to us

Romans 11:29-31
King James Version (KJV)
29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercythrough their unbelief:
31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy

May you rest in Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior!
