Providence Luncheon 1-13-2010

Date: Wednesday, January 13, 2010

Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Place: Radisson Hotel, 220 India Street, Providence

Our speaker this month is Don Turbitt. He is retired from the Providence Fire Department. Don is a Deacon in the Catholic Church. He decided to make Jesus Christ the center of his life over thirty years. He leads prayer groups and  Life in the Spirit meetings where people are baptized in the Holy Spirit and speak in Tongues. He takes missionary groups several times a year to some of the countries that broke off from the Soviet Union where they see miracles take place regularly. He and his wife speak at meetings where people want to grow in their faith. He loves Jesus Christ, a man of Faith. He walks by Faith, in that he prays for the Lord to supply his needs and the finances for the mission trips.

"Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven."
Matthew  10:32 & 33

"And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me."
 Matthew  10:38

Please be in prayer that the Holy Spirit will be drawing people to Jesus that are around us, that we may share the Truth with them.
Also that the Holy Spirit will gives favor with people He wants us to invite to this luncheon.

Please respond via email or call Jim Buford 401.821.8750 and visit  www.fgbmfi-ri.org for

Guest Speaker

Rev. JAMES SPAN

James Span was born in W. Virginia, the last of 8 children to an alcoholic mother, who died when he was nine years old. He and his older brother went to live with his Grandmother, who was a deaconess in a Holiness Church.

He rebelled against the strict rule in that home, and began running the streets and using drugs secretly. His brother ended up in prison for murder, and James became involved in a gang. This behavior persisted for many years.

One day, while using drugs, he suddenly announced that he was going to "quit drugs" and "preach the gospel". His wife said "OK", but soon decided that was not the life for her, and they eventually parted.

James eventually surrendered his life completely to God, is now happily married and is serving as Assistant Pastor of The Jesus Party, a ministry in Lewiston, Maine, with a strong emphasis in reaching out to inner-city kids with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Come and hear this stirring testimony of God's grace reaching out to him and transforming his life in a powerful way.
